ACCOUNTING POLICIES |
1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES The condensed consolidated financial statements include the accounts of Union First Market Bankshares Corporation and its subsidiaries (collectively, the “Company”). Significant inter-company accounts and transactions have been eliminated in consolidation. The unaudited condensed consolidated financial statements have been prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (“GAAP”) for interim financial information and follow general practice within the banking industry. Accordingly, the unaudited condensed consolidated financial statements do not include all the information and footnotes required by GAAP for complete financial statements. However, in the opinion of management, all adjustments (consisting only of normal recurring accruals) necessary for a fair presentation of the results of the interim periods presented have been made. The results of operations for the interim periods are not necessarily indicative of the results that may be expected for the full year. These financial statements should be read in conjunction with the consolidated financial statements and notes thereto included in the Company’s 2011 Annual Report on Form 10-K. If needed, certain previously reported amounts have been reclassified to conform to current period presentation. |
